A Saltcoats woman has had a new lease of life thanks to winning a state-of-the-art pair of hearing aids from Specsavers.
Elizabeth Skinnner entered a competition with The Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald recently and was picked as the lucky winner of Phonak B90- Rechargeable hearing aids worth £2,895.
She visited the store on Dockhead Street for a hearing check and to be fitted with her new aids.
Today’s hearing aid can improve quality of life
Teresa Garden, Audiologist at Specsavers Saltcoats, said: ‘We were very pleased to welcome Elizabeth in to store for her hearing check and she was absolutely delighted to have been drawn as the winner of our competition.
‘Modern advancements in digital hearing aid technology mean today’s hearing aids are very comfortable and discrete but can make a vast difference to your life. Having previously suffered from substantial hearing loss, Elizabeth’s quality of life will now be greatly improved thanks to her new aids.’
Dedicated hearing centre
Specsavers Saltcoats launched a new hearing centre earlier this year following a six-figure investment in the redevelopment of the store. The refurbishment created new jobs and revolutionised the store layout with the addition of a new test room and dedicated hearing centre.
As well as offering free hearing tests, its dedicated hearing aid professionals can tell customers everything they need to know about the incredible digital hearing aids available. Specsavers offers an extensive selection of state-of-the-art hearing aids by leading manufacturers including Phonak, Siemens and Widex.
Teresa added: ‘It’s so important to have regular hearing checks from the age of 40. I’d urge anyone who thinks they may have a hearing impairment to book an appointment.’
