Staff at Specsavers in Allerton have raised over £50 for Save the Children, with funds still coming in, after they all donned their favourite festive jumpers and spread Christmas cheer throughout the local neighbourhood.

Festive fun

The team from Specsavers in Allerton got the festive celebrations underway earlier this month, wearing their woolly Christmas sweaters for the renowned global charity.

Visitors to the store also had the opportunity to enter the Snow Sweepstake, the game which requires participants to guess what jumper Channel Four’s Jon Snow is wearing with all proceeds going to Save the Children.

Invaluable charity

Dedicated to ensuring every child has the best chance for success, the charity has pioneered programmes that give children a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and be protected from harm.

Andrew Preston, store director at Specsavers in Allerton, said: ‘At this festive time of the year, and especially as many of us are parents ourselves, our thoughts are drawn to children around the world facing an unhappy Christmas.

‘We have a very special place in our hearts and minds for Save the Children and the invaluable work this charity does, so we were delighted to be able to support the ‘Make the World Better with a Sweater’ campaign.

Spreading Christmas cheer

‘Not only did it allow us to spread some cheer throughout the community in the busy Christmas countdown, it also allowed us to raise much needed funds for Save the Children.’
