Chocolate hamper back up for grabs in Pudsey

Specsavers opticians in Pudsey have been fundraising for a local care home
Optical assistant Frances Stone and assistant manager Zara Majid presented the hamper at Simon Marks Court

The team at Specsavers in Pudsey devoted the month of August to raising money for a care home for the elderly, and the fundraising is set to continue throughout September.

Staff organised a raffle in aid of Simon Marks Court care home in Wortley, and visitors to the store were invited to try their luck at winning a chocolate hamper.

The gift that keeps on giving
By chance, the raffle winner’s mother is a resident at Simon Marks Court, and the hamper has been donated to the care home to be ‘raffled-off’ for a second time.

Charity of the month
Each month, a different member of the Pudsey Specsavers team is asked to nominate a charity to benefit from in-store fundraising efforts. Simon Marks Court was chosen by optical assistant Frances Stone, whose mother is a resident at the home.

Speaking about the project, Frances said: ‘I’m so pleased that we were able to offer our support to Simon Marks Court this month, and the prize turned out to be a gift that keeps on giving!

'It’s fantastic that the hamper is going straight into another raffle and will help raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.’
