Children's hospice boosted by opticians’ farm-themed fundraiser
Specsavers opticians in Okehampton staged a farm-themed fundraiser event for Children's Hospice South West recently. The store wanted to create a fun atmosphere and encourage customers and children to come in to donate to this great cause.
Kath Dandy, store director said: 'We had great fun dressing up during the week. The hospice plays such a vital role in the local community and we felt extremely privileged to support it.'
Grateful for the support
Naomi Dymond, community fundraiser, Children’s Hospice South West, says, ‘We were absolutely delighted to work with Specsavers and were very grateful for their support. The team looked brilliant dressed up as farmers and managed to raise a brilliant sum of money for the hospice.’
Children's Hospice South West
Children’s Hospice South West helps and supports children with life-limiting conditions. It has three hospices - Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Mid Cornwall.
It costs more than £8m. a year to run the three hospices and the charity is almost entirely funded by voluntary donations. Each and every penny raised makes a huge difference to the families it supports.
