Children who watched the Christmas light switch on in Aylesbury on Thursday 20 November were also treated to a spec-tacular donation from Specsavers.

The team, who were dotted around Market Square during the event, gave out goody bags filled with treats, including a high visibility vest. The store was keen to get involved in Road Safety Week (17-23 November) as Specsavers was a co-sponsor.

‘More than 100 goody bags were given out, which went down very well with both the children and parents,’ said Ansar Asghar, store director.

‘Road safety is extremely important, particularly during winter, so we hoped that by giving out the hi-vis vests we can instil greater safety in the town, while spreading a serious message – to look out for each other.’
