Children receive hi-vis vests at Christmas fayre
The team from Melksham Specsavers put children’s safety in the frame at the town’s Christmas Fayre by handing out high-visibility vests to youngsters.
More than 200 hi-vis vests were handed out to children throughout the day, helping them to stay safe – and visible – during the darker winter months.
‘It was wonderful to be at the lights switch-on this year, and even with the rough weather there was a fantastic turnout and a really festive atmosphere,’ said Julie Burrage, store manager. ‘It was also an ideal time for us to spread important road safety messages to children and parents, and we managed to give away 200 hi-vis vests during the event.
Specsavers is a co-sponsor of Road Safety Week, an annual event organised by Brake which aims to raise awareness of life-saving road safety messages.
