Sarah Carr, optical assistant at Specsavers in Uttoxeter, has raised £460 for Breast Cancer Care UK after she took part in the Pink Ribbon Walk on Saturday 15 June.
The 20-mile walk, organised by the cancer charity, included parts of the Chatsworth Estate and took Sarah eight hours to complete.
‘I am ecstatic to have completed the walk,’ said Sarah. ‘The weather held out and even better than that was the fact I raised £460 for Breast Cancer Care. I opted to walk the longest route of 20 miles and although it was tough, I had a really great day. It really was incredible to see a sea of pink trail through the countryside and I’d like to thank everyone who donated and supported me on the day.’
Breast Cancer Care works to ensure that everyone diagnosed with breast cancer can access the support they deserve. Through its community of nurses and volunteers, it provides free face-to-face support to those suffering from the disease, as well as access to breast care nurses.
