Stores across the North East have been showing their support for good causes in the first months of 2019.
From Berwick to Bradford, optical and audiology teams have been going the extra mile to give their backing to a range of charities.
As well as joining together to sell thousands of novelty glasses for Red Nose Day – with every pair raising £2 for Comic Relief, stores have also been raising valuable funds for a number of other charities, including Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Save the Children, RNIB and Brain Tumour Research – raising a further £1,800 between January and March.
Strong start to the year
Spencer Rippon, divisional relationship manager at Specsavers, said: ‘Showing our support for good causes is an important part of our shared ethos here at Specsavers. And here in the North East, teams have really made fundraising a focus for 2019.
‘Whether it’s small a donation made in return for a free specs repair in store or sponsorship for a team member undertaking a marathon or skydive, we know that every penny raised counts.’
