Supporting armed forces personnel
Gary Parker, Specsavers Bracknell store director says: ‘Blind Veterans UK is a fantastic charity, and our staff are very excited to get involved. We have some very exciting prizes including vouchers from the Waitrose, Tesco’s, Pizza Hut, and Sainsbury’s.
‘Our week of fundraising is a great opportunity for us to raise money and increase awareness of armed forces personnel who are battling with blindness. We hope to see lots of customers pop in to join in our fundraising and we would like to thank all of our customers in advance for their generosity.’
Blind Veterans UK was founded in 1915 by Sir Arthur Pearson who was determined to provide care and rehabilitation to those who lost their sight in the First World War. Today the charity provides lifelong practical and emotional support for veterans, helping them to recover their independence and discover life beyond their sight loss.
