Two of the Cleethorpes team have cycled from London to Paris for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Lucy Bell and Katie Sandall rode from Crystal Palace in London on Wednesday 19 July and finished at the Eiffel Tower four days later, even though the pair have never cycled frequently before.

Lucy, aged 26 and Katie, 35 wanted to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust after Lucy’s cousin, Joseph Catley, passed away from bone cancer in December 2016, aged just 16.

In the end, they raised more than £3,000 towards the charity.

The pair trained all year, riding 30 to 60 miles three times a week. All whilst Lucy has been studying to become a dispensing optician and revising for her exams in between.

Lucy said: ‘It was tough but it was a really emotional moment when we arrived at the Eiffel Tower.

‘We want to thank everyone, friends, family and friends who have donated, supported and helped us. We couldn’t have done this without them.'
