Specsavers in Winchester is supporting a Bollywood extravaganza, by donating £500 in aid of Age UK Mid Hampshire and Cancer Research UK.
The glittering event on 1 Oct at St John’s house will kick off with a champagne reception and include a delicious three course meal provided by Sanjsa, one of the south of England’s leading Indian restaurants. The evening will be hosted by local TV celebrity Fred Dinenage with Bollywood themed entertainment including: dancing, music, singing and a fashion show. An auction and raffle will be held, where guests will have the opportunity to bid for some of the saris worn in the fashion show.

Krupesh Barchha, director of Specsavers in Winchester, said: ‘This promises to be a fantastic night and one which will raise vital funds for such great causes. We want to continue to support the wonderful work the charities do, so I would encourage the local community to don their dancing shoes and come to the ball.’ ‘Tarlok Bhambra, one of our regular customers, is associated with both charities. He has made us aware of how much work they do for local people and that is why we have decided to support the event.’ Tickets are now on sale and cost £65. They are available to purchase from the Specsavers store by cash or cheque.
