With a New Year on the horizon, Specsavers West Bridgford is looking for a charity to work with throughout 2016 as part of its ongoing commitment to support the local community.
The team is asking customers to nominate a charity they would like to see the store support for 12 months by filling out a voting slip in store. The charity which receives the most nominations by 31 December will become the store’s official charity for 2016.
The store has previously supported charities including Breast Cancer Care, Macmillan and Children in Need, but customers can nominate any charity for 2016.
‘Supporting good causes is something that’s really important to us, and this year we’ve decided to do things a little differently by asking customers to choose one charity for us to support for 12 months,’ said Stephen Rogers, store director. ‘Customers can put forward charities throughout December and the one with the most votes by New Year will become our nominated charity.
‘As well as collecting money for the charity in store throughout the year, we will also host events and fundraising days for the community to get involved in, with all proceeds going directly to the charity.’
As the store gets into the festive spirit this month, young visitors to the store could win a chocolate selection box by making a decoration for the store’s Christmas tree and dropping it off at the store. The competition ends on Christmas Eve and the winner will be announced on 27 December.
