Staff in Cleveleys Specsavers were incredibly pleased to find a surprise donation in their Vision Aid Overseas collection box.

Charitable customer

While emptying the box of glasses which had been donated, staff members were delighted to find a £20 note which had been donated anonymously by a customer.

Optometrist Director at Cleveleys, Dr. Laika Essa, is originally from Zambia and is incredibly devoted to the Vision Aid Overseas partnership.  She said: 'Vision Aid Overseas is a cause which is very close to all of our hearts here in the store, and it’s always encouraging to see our customers donate so generously.

We always receive an impressive number of glasses, and this extra contribution once again shows that our customers go above and beyond to contribute where they can, and on behalf of Vision Aid Overseas, we thank them.'

Successful partnership

Specsavers has donated more than £300,000 into the Zambian partnership with Vision Aid Overseas thus far.  They have set a target to fund vision centres in the country’s further 8 provinces, a target this surprise find will contribute to!
