The Lisburn store is celebrating ten years in business this month.
The store was opened on Lisburn’s Bow Street in 2004 by store directors, Natalie Latham and Jill Campbell, who both still work there, and has significantly grown over the last ten years. It first opened its doors with just six members of staff.
The Lisburn store now boasts 22 members of staff, three optical testing rooms and a hearing service, which is open every Monday, and is managed by audiologist, Joanne Torrens. In addition the store offers a free hearing screenings service seven days a week.
Natalie Latham, store director, said: ‘We are very proud to be celebrating ten years in business and I am delighted that I have been here for all ten of those years. It is a great achievement for the store and without the continued support from our local community, we would not be able to celebrate such a significant milestone.
‘We are looking forward to another ten years with excitement and enthusiasm.’
The Lisburn store has invested in the latest technology in order to keep the business a high street leader in optics, and therefore, offers the latest in digital retinal photography. This allows opticians to take a detailed photo of the back of the eye to enable them to closely monitor the health of the eye.
Over the last ten years the store has also helped to train a number of its employees to receive nationally recognised qualifications. Stephen Port and Pamela Woods have both qualified as dispensing opticians since the store opened its doors and Niall Walsh has recently finished his first year of a three-year course in ophthalmic dispensing.
