Specsavers Birmingham is celebrating 562 years of experience, as it combines each year of service from its team.

The store has been located at 14 – 15 New Street in the City Centre for 28 years. One member of staff has worked at the store since it opened, while 20 of the 77-strong team have been there for well over ten years each. 

A word from the store director 

‘We’re really proud of the experience and expertise within our team,’ said store director Neil Jones. ‘It has always been of huge importance to us to invest in the professional development of our employees, which is part of the reason we have so many longstanding team members. In fact, we’ve recently been awarded a Platinum Employers Award for our commitment to staff. We always aim to support our team to be able to do their best and without their hard work, we wouldn’t be able to make such a positive difference for our customers.’

The well-respected business award followed an external inspection of the businesses practices across five areas including recruitment and induction, performance management and learning and development.
