The team in Chester has extended an open invitation to anyone who would like to join them in celebrating the store’s milestone 25th anniversary.
A 25th birthday party for customers with birthday cake, party music and balloons has been planned for 30th November.
The store's legacy
The store on Northgate Street is one of the longest standing retail businesses in Chester city centre, and credits its loyal customers and dedicated staff with its success.
Specsavers Chester boasts a proud history of developing and nurturing professional talent. The store currently employs 40 members of staff, including two recently graduated apprentices, and four new apprentices who have joined the team in recent months.
The team in store
Retail manager Sarah Palomba has served at the store since its opening day, and so celebrates her own silver anniversary at Specsavers Chester.
Two former colleagues who trained with Specsavers Chester have also moved on to open other stores, proving the knock on effect of the business on the local economy and talent pool.
Specsavers Chester’s founding store directors Julie Griffiths and Huw Moffat remain at the store’s helm.
Audiology in Chester
In 2006 the store welcomed the arrival of the Specsavers Audiologists, headed up by director John Wisbey, with audiologist Neil Bradbury. This year the audiology side of the business celebrated its tenth birthday and the promotion of Briony Jones, who passed her exams to become a qualified audiologist. The hearcare room was overhauled in 2016 with the introduction of state-of-the-art equipment and the latest shop fit; a significant investment by the store.
