Schoolchildren in west Wales have taken part in Snowsport Cymru Wales’ School Ski Race, with the event trophies sponsored by Specsavers.
The championships saw pupils from 15 schools participate in the regional competition that was hosted by Ski Pembrey.
Carmarthen-based schools were winners in all of the team events, with Llangunnor winning the primary school event while Bro Myrddin won the boys and girls category for secondary schools.
The race series has rapidly grown in popularity and includes children from four to 18 years old.
Aidan Jones, of Bro Myrddin and Cari Jones, of QE High, were named fastest male and fastest female, respectively.
Pupils at Dyfryn Amman and Bishopston School were also highlighted for their performances.
Samuel Hodson, director at Specsavers in Carmarthen, said: ‘Ski racing is not necessarily something you’d associate with Wales, so it’s great to see so many children get involved and take part in this exciting sport.
‘At Specsavers, we pride ourselves on supporting the local community, so it was great to sponsor the trophies and join all of the children who performed so well for their schools.’
