Staff at Specsavers on Queen Street have attended a health seminar to talk about the importance of looking after eye and ear health.

Optometrist, Justine Davies, spoke at the seminar, which was held by Age Connects.

Age Connects works to change attitudes to ageing and to improve the lives of older people.

Eye health and conditions

Justine spoke about the optical conditions that affect elderly people at the event, which was held in Fairwater.

Following the talk, Justine and Specsavers retail manager, Nicola Edwards, answered questions, handed out leaflets and completed hearing screenings.

Avoid vision loss

Justine Davies said: ‘It was great to meet so many people at the Age Connects event and have the opportunity to share advice about eye health. Sometimes mature eyes need some extra assistance as people are at a higher risk of developing certain conditions as they get older.

‘Regular eye tests are extremely important because with an early diagnosis, most age-related conditions can be managed effectively.’
