Cardiff optician celebrates customer service award

A member of staff at Specsavers in Cardiff Queen Street has won an award for her outstanding customer service.

A customer had visited the store to order contact lenses through optometrist Justine Davies. However, when the customer returned to collect his lenses later that week, he was informed it was her day off.

Customer urgently needed contact lenses

The customer urgently needed the contact lenses for work and, although ready for collection, was keen to see the same optician that examined him previously.

Although it was her day off, Justine came in to personally check the fit of his new lenses so that they would be ready for him to wear to work the following week.

Staff nominated colleague for customer service

Store managers then nominated Justine for a customer service award for the fantastic service she had shown him.

Justine was presented with a pin badge, a certificate and Marks & Spencer’s vouchers.

James Deavall, director of Specsavers in Cardiff, said: ‘We are very proud to have a staff member like Justine working in our store.

‘It is great to have staff on our team that have such a great work ethic and pride themselves on customer service that goes above and beyond their duty – and in Justine’s case that meant coming in on her day off. ‘I am delighted to reward Justine with some well-deserved gifts to celebrate her fantastic service.’ 

Justine Davies said: ‘I always aim to offer the very best service to customers, so I’m chuffed to receive an award in recognition of that, and to get the gifts on top is an added bonus too.’
