Cancer Research UK is better off by more than £480 thanks to a fundraising campaign to beat cancer.
The team from Specsavers in the Marlowes got creative, hosting a charity bake sale and specs repair and face painting services over the course a week-long fundraising drive to support the charity.
Meanwhile, store supervisor Ellie Battista literally hit the ground running with her own fundraising endeavour – the Race for Life 5k. Together, they raised £482.22.
A word from the store
Ellie was a real driving force behind the store’s campaign: ‘We don’t like to do anything by half measures so we went all out and are very proud of almost reaching the £500 mark.
‘We’re grateful for the support and it’s a reminder that Cancer Research is much-loved not only by members of our team but, indeed, our wider community, who gave so generously. What better cause to support than helping to beat cancer sooner.’
