Budding bakers from Specsavers in Burton-on-Trent are preparing to whisk up a range of delicious treats this week ahead of a cake sale in aid of the Burton Albion Community Trust.
Members of staff will be serving up cakes and cookies on Saturday 13 May, 9am-3pm, and are encouraging local residents to pop into store for a sweet treat.
Making a difference
Money raised from the home-made goods will help to support a project being organised by the Trust, which will see volunteers travel to Zanzibar later this month and make a difference to communities living in poverty.
Store director Linda Joyce said: ‘This is the third time we’ve supported the Burton Albion Community Trust and we’re delighted to have another opportunity to get involved with this fantastic project.
‘We have some wonderful bakers in store who I’m certain will whip up some delicious cakes, so I’d like to encourage all our customers to visit us on Saturday and help us raise as much money as we can.’

The money raised through the Zanzibar trip will not only support those communities in Africa, but also the local Burton community.
