Caerphilly focuses on cancer charity
Specsavers in Caerphilly has raised more than £1,000 for a cancer charity by asking customers to make a donation instead of paying for basic glasses repairs.
Donation for repairs
Since August 2013 the store has raised £1,060 for Velindre Cancer Centre, which is the Charity of the Year for Specsavers stores across Wales and provides support and specialist treatment to cancer patients and their families.
Truly deserving cause
Geraint Jones, director of Specsavers in Caerphilly, said: ‘Specsavers raised £7,000 for Velindre last year, and we’re all determined to top that amount in 2014.
‘This fantastic total puts us well on our way to doing just that, and is even more impressive considering it was achieved in less than a year.
‘I’d like to thank all our customers for their generosity towards a truly deserving cause.’
