More than 300 runners crossed the finish line at Rouken Glen Park this summer as participants took part in the annual Giffnock North Amateur Athletics Club Festival of Running.
Specsavers stores in and around Glasgow sponsored the gruelling race which saw keen entrants cross the 10k finish line following a successful run. More than 30 runners also attended an evening ceremony to mark their success later in the day.
The 2015 contest marked another successful year of partnership between Specsavers and Giffnock North AAC. Along with sponsoring the event, staff members from the local opticians also completed the race to show their support and sportsmanship.
The stores involved included: Barrhead, Glasgow, Newlands, Paisley, East Kilbride Rutherglen, Glasgow Forge, Sauchiehall Street and Byres Rd.
Honour to sponsor
David Quigley, Director of Specsavers Byres Road said: ‘It was an honour to sponsor this event for the second consecutive year and it was great to see so many members of staff take part.
‘Giffnock North ACC is a community club which we are proud to support and we look forward to working with the team at next year’s ceremony.’
