All eyes will be on the goal at Bury FC this season after Specsavers launched a season-long sponsorship deal with the Shakers’ goalkeeper Christian Walton this week.

The Millgate Shopping Centre Specsavers team welcomed the England under 19 international, currently on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, into store to celebrate his new personal sponsorship deal earlier this week.

Safe hands

Christian was joined by his Bury FC teammates and fellow goalies Rob Lainton and Jack Ruddy in store and the trio of keepers all received an eye test, so fans can be assured they’ll always have a healthy pair of eyes on the ball this season.

Store director, Dale Coxon, said: ‘We have many avid Shakers fans amongst our staff and customers so we’re thrilled to announce our sponsorship of Christian and wish him and his teammates all the very best for the new season.

Eyes on the ball

‘As the guys were telling us, good vision is a key attribute between the sticks, so it’s great to be able to play our part by welcoming Christian and his teammates into store for a check-up.

‘Remember, whether you’re on the pitch, in the stands or watching the game on television, looking after your eyes is vital. We advise an eye test at least once every two years.’
