Staff at Specsavers Burton-on-Trent are delighted to be helping fund a local volunteer’s trip to Ghana to aid people living in poverty.
The team will be supporting John Widdowson, who works for Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) by hosting a yellow and black themed day, alongside a cake sale on Saturday 7 March with all funds raised going towards the trip.
A word from the store director
Specsavers Burton-on-Trent store director, Linda Joyce said: ‘As this is the 10th year of BACT, we’re eager to make sure it’s a successful trip for John. The trust is keen to leave a legacy in Ghana by building a library for the community and those going on the trip will also be giving the locals sports coaching.
‘As this is a well-known charity and a big part of our local community, we’re hoping our generous customers will get behind us once again for a great local cause.’
