Burton-on-Trent opticians help raise money for motor neurone disease
The team at Burton Specsavers has leant its support to a local charity initiative, helping to raise more than £450 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Fundraising sweet success
Joined by volunteers from Tea4MND, staff invited customers to pop in for a slice of cake as they hosted a bake sale in store. A total of £489 was raised on the day.
Store director, Catherine Robinson, said: ‘All of the tasty treats went down really well and we’re incredibly proud to have helped Tea4MND raise so much money for this wonderful charity. The MND Association does some fantastic work to support those living with the condition in the UK and customers were able to find out much more about that from the volunteers we had in store.
‘We’d just like to say a big thank you to everybody who generously made a donation and to the Tea4MND volunteers who gave up their time to make the day a success.’
The Motor Neurone Disease Association is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with MND in the UK. Through continued research and campaigning, the charity envisions a world free from MND.
