Students set their sights on an optometry career
Specsavers in Burgess Hill is encouraging local students to consider a career in optics and optometry.
Trevor Hoare, store director at Specsavers Burgess Hill, says: ‘A career in optometry and optics is highly rewarding and varied. You could work in hospitals where you will see people with complicated eye related problems, get involved in pioneering research, go down the road of teaching or you may want to own your own optometry business.
'It’s an incredibly challenging and well respected profession, offers a good living with flexibility in terms of working hours and is highly rewarding.’
Entry requirements vary between universities but you will usually need high grades, typically a minimum of AAB at A-level, or equivalent, with at least two science subjects.
The team is always available to offer advice to young people about how to get into the industry, please call 01444 257 722 to discuss or pop into the store on Church Road.
