The team at Specsavers in Hucknall visited Springfield Academy in Bulwell to talk to years three and four children about looking after eyes and ears. The visit supported their class topic of ‘How do we see? How do we hear?’
Schools coordinator, Katie Thompson and audiologist, Emma Coveney, brought a giant ear with them to meet the pupils. Katie talked about the importance of looking after your eyes, using a model of the eye to explain how eyesight works, and Emma led some hearing-focused activities, including getting the children to act like a soundwave.
Lizzie Boden from the Djanology Learning Trust said: ‘Thank you so much for your visit. The children really enjoyed and completed some fantastic work surrounding the visit. We really appreciate you all coming in.’
Store director, Janet Archer, added: ‘It’s wonderful for us to be able to share our passion for eye and ear care with what could be the next generation of optometrists and audiologists, along with important health messages.’
