Brunswick opticians call for unwanted specs

07 June, 2016
Specsavers Brunswick wants your unwanted specs!

Specsavers Brunswick is encouraging all local residents to donate their old and unwanted specs to the store, which will then be donated to Vision Aid Overseas (VAO).

Old specs fund charity work

The charity recycles the glasses and uses the money made from selling the reusable materials to fund its charity work in developing countries. This includes giving people much-needed eye tests and treatment, and training up local optometrists.

Store director Raj Kukadia says: ‘We can easily access professional eyecare here on the high street. In the developing world it’s a very different story and for that reason it is important we do what we can to improve eye health elsewhere.

Change a life

‘There must be hundreds of spare specs lying around in drawers across the area that are no longer of use to their owners but that could change other peoples’ lives. Please pop into store with these specs and help to change someone’s life’.
