Brownies and Croydon eyecare experts unite
Croydon eyecare experts enlisted the Brownies to help spread the message about the links between visibility and road safety during Road Safety Week.
The team from Specsavers in Croydon Church Street and North End stores shone the spotlight on road safety by handing out 500 high visibility vests to local school children and youth groups, including the 10th Clapham Brownies, in celebration of the annual awareness week from the charity Brake.
A word from the store director
Bill Pennell, store director of Specsavers in Croydon, said: ‘We have a responsibility, as eyecare specialists, to communicate to our young people the important relationship between sight and safety when using the roads. We hope our young people will wear their high visibility vests with pride when out and about, and set an example to others on foot.’
The store is also renewing its call to drivers to put vision on their agendas and make time for regular eye tests, while handing out high visibility vests to 7-11-year-olds in store while stocks last.
