Brixton stands to attention for military heroes

To honour Armed Forces week (22 to 28 June) Brixton are showing their support by donating £1 per eye test to Blind Veterans UK. This highlights the work of currently serving troops, service families, veterans and cadets across the UK.

Supporting Veterans

Specsavers store director, Brian Simpson said: ‘We’re delighted to be supporting this worthy cause this year. ‘The charity provides independence to veterans who are visually impaired and we’re fully behind this as an opticians who provides support for everyone with eyecare deficiencies. Battling blindness can be tough, so we’re keen to help Blind Veterans show people a life beyond sight loss.’

Noble Cause

Blind Veterans UK was founded in 1915 and offers support at its three training and rehabilitation centres in Brighton, Llandudno and Sheffield, as well as at home through a network of UK welfare officers. Over 850 blind and vision impaired ex-Service men and women received vital sight loss support and services through the charity’s ‘No One Alone’ campaign between 2014 and 2015.
