Nearly £500 raised in a day for RNLI
Specsavers Brixham has raised nearly £500 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Mini café at Specsavers for the day
On Saturday 9 August, Specsavers in Brixham set up a mini café in store for a coffee morning where people enjoyed decadent homemade cakes and hot drinks.
People sat outside and enjoy the sunshine, as well as took part in a special tombola.
Donations were given to the RNLI as part of Torbay Lifeboat Week.
Supporting the lifeboat service
Specsavers also donated £10 for every sight test done on the day to the charity, even if it was a free test.
Store director Chibuzor Rogers-Uwadi says: ‘We want to do all we can to support the Royal National Lifeboat Institution as they do so much for our seaside town.
‘With such unpredictable conditions at sea, it’s important to have professional people at hand to offer rescue services to those at risk. We hope our coffee morning encouraged Brixham residents to come and give something back to a charity that gives the community so much.’
