Specsavers in Plymouth has helped pupils stay safe in the city by donating high visibility vests to a local school.

The Cornwall Street and Armada Way stores gave the vests to children at Pilgrim Primary School in Plymouth to promote Road Safety Week, an initiative by the charity Brake.

Safe and visible

Store director Philip Gray says: ‘We want to make sure that children are safe and visible as winter is fast approaching.

‘We hope our donation will help keep parents’ minds at ease when they’re escorting their children. It was fantastic to meet all the kids, especially as it’s vital to learn how important it is to be visible on the roads from a young age.’

Brake is a national road safety charity which exists to prevent deaths and injuries which happen on roads on a daily basis, through campaigns and other funding. The charity also promotes safe and sustainable road use and effective road safety policies.
