Children at Kirktonholme Nursery School in Airdrie are putting safety first during their outdoor trips thanks to a donation from Specsavers.

Specsavers Airdrie pledged to improve safety in the community on Road Safety Week and donated high visibility vests to local groups including Kirktonholme Nursery School.

The youngsters were seen sporting their vests on a recent excursion which helped them to be more visible to cars.

Improving safety on the streets

Andrew McGonagle, store director at Specsavers Airdrie and Coatbridge, said: 'We pride ourselves on being a big part of the local community and donating high visibility vests to local groups is a simple gesture to help improve safety on our streets.

'It was great to see the kids out using the vests; we hope they come in handy for the group.'
