Bridlington opticians holds fundraiser for Guide Dogs
Bridlington Specsavers has recently raised more than £90 for Guide Dogs UK to mark the charity’s annual fundraising week.
The team at Specsavers in Bridlington spent the day raising money with the help of some doggy delegates from the charity.
Meet the Guide Dogs
Customers were encouraged to pop in to the store to meet the guide dogs, their owners and some puppies-in-training as well as joining in with a raffle to win a Guide Dog cuddly toy. In return for a small donation visitors to the store were invited to enter a competition, and Bridlington Specsavers is sponsoring a Guide Dog poppy for a year in the name of the winner.
About Guide Dogs UK
Guide Dogs UK has transformed the lives of over 30,000 blind and partially sighted people by breeding, training and supporting the dogs that restore their mobility and freedom. The lifetime cost of each Guide Dog is around £50,000, all of which comes from public support.
Mark Kunz, store director at Specsavers in Bridlington, commented: ‘We really enjoyed our in-store fundraiser and our loyal customers were fantastic in showing their support for Guide Dogs UK.
‘Every hour another person in the UK goes blind, and we are really proud to be sponsoring the training of a much-needed puppy that will one day change someone’s life.’
