Bridgnorth welcomes new apprentice
The team at Specsavers in Bridgnorth has welcomed a new staff member into the store as part of its optical apprenticeship programme.
India Roberts (pictured with dispensing manager, Phil Clarke) is one of more than 200 people currently enrolled on the UK’s biggest government accredited scheme, which will see her gain one year’s experience at the Bridgnorth store.
A wonderful addition to the team
‘Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to unlock potential and build foundations for successful, fulfilling careers,’ commented store director, Teresa Hughes. ‘India is a wonderful addition to our team here and we look forward to seeing her develop as she continues to work with us.’
India added: ‘I’m really glad to have taken up this opportunity and start a career in optics. My apprenticeship allows me to learn from professionals every day and gain the skills I need to work towards my qualification.’
Specsavers’ one-year apprenticeship scheme is open to anyone over the age of 16 and requires no previous optical experience. The programme, which has been running for more than two years, includes the completion of the Level 2 Diploma in Optics, with 90% of apprentices taking on full-time positions in the company upon qualification.
