Brentwood take part in Essex charity bike ride

Specsavers staff in Brentwood are taking part in an Essex wide charity cycle to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.

The gruelling bike ride will see staff make the journey from the Maldon store around the Essex region and passing by each store location in between.

Essex stores coming together

Manoj Patel, director at Specsavers in Brentwood, said: ‘It’s great that stores in Essex are coming together to support such a great charity.

‘The Alzheimer’s Society is close to our hearts as many of the Specsavers staff know someone who suffers with dementia, so I’m very proud to be taking part in an Essex-wide charity event to raise money for such a wonderful charity.’

Dedicated care

Specsavers is investing in specific dementia training for staff to allow them to offer specialist customer care to those affected by the disease.

Across Essex, around 300 staff have completed the training programme.
