Brecon celebrates 10th birthday with major store renovation

19 November, 2013

The Specsavers opticians, on Brecon’s High Street, has made a £40,000 investment in the refurbishment of the store to offer better levels of customer service and meet growing demand for its optical and hearing services, and to celebrate the store’s 10th birthday.

Soundproof room
As part of the renovation, the store now has a new soundproof room from which its hearing clinic will operate. It will also house iPads which will now replace the older hearing screening system. The store also has new, and an increased number, of frame stands allowing it to display 900 pairs of glasses.

The store is headed up by two long-standing staff members; director, Clare Corcoran, who has been with the store for nine years and store manager, Donna Like, who has been a member of staff since the store first opened its doors in 2003.

New staff
To meet growing demand, the store has also welcomed two new members of staff. Leanne Rees, 30, and Hannah Shepherd, 27, have both joined the store as optical advisors, taking its number of staff to eight.
Hannah has 10 years’ optical experience, while Leanne has 13 years’ experience in the retail industry.
