Brazilian carnival fever hits Market Harborough
The Market Harborough Specsavers team raised more than £350 for charity after getting into the festival spirit with a Rio Carnival-themed fun day.
Passers-by were entertained by colourful carnival dancing girls, whilst staff welcomed customers wearing their festival finery.
The store hosted a Spot the Ball competition with great prizes for footie fans including a football and trophy. Customers also had the opportunity to buy raffle tickets to win a Brazil Party Hamper, including a football, BBQ meat pack and Brazilian decorations.
Over £750 raised so far
Barry Henning, store director, said: ‘We had a brilliant time on Saturday and lots of fun whilst raising money for our store’s chosen charity, Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. The charity is close to our hearts, with the teenage son of one our team recovering from leukaemia, a form of blood cancer.
‘With the money made from our Spot the Ball competition and raffle to date, we have raised more than £789 so far this year.’
