Members of staff at Specsavers Grantham showed their support for Comic Relief by braving leg waxing for donations.

Lisa Brandreth from AUK salon, kindly donated the materials and had the honour of waxing the legs of store director Bijal Ladva, dispensing optician Jim Hickey and optical assistants Stuart Cullingham and Chris Hollingworth.

The practice raised £85 on the day, but have also raised a whopping £290 through their JustGiving page.

Store director, Bijal Ladva said: ‘We were really happy to see people getting on board with what we’re doing. The most important thing to us is to raise as much as we can and raise awareness. We take a lot of pride in fundraising for Comic Relief, and even though it was painful it was worth it.’

The Grantham store were also selling official red Comic Relief specs at £2.  The glasses featured waving hands on either side and were made in adult and children sizes. Customers were encouraged to raise awareness by posting selfies on social media using #GiveUsAWave
