Bournemouth sees inspiring charity runners
Staff from Specsavers in Bournemouth joined thousands of women to take part in Race for Life – but didn’t stop there in their charity fundraising.
Running for Cancer Research and baking for Marie Curie
Jennette Fry and Saba Shamispour from the store laced up their running shoes to take part in the 5k race, raising money for Cancer Research UK. The girls also baked their best sweet treats and sold daffodils to encourage donations in store for Marie Curie on Friday 19 June.
Working hard to raise money
Paul Hatton, store director of Specsavers in Bournemouth says: ‘Jennette and Saba went above and beyond in their fundraising efforts, raising nearly £200 for both charities.
‘After tiring themselves out in the run for Cancer Research UK, they worked away in the kitchen to raise money for Marie Curie. We’re very grateful to our Bournemouth community for coming to help them support these two charities, which both do incredible work to help those with cancer and those who are terminally ill.’
