The store, located on 80 Christchurch Road, collected old and unused glasses for the charity, which provides eye care services to people in Zambia.

Kieran Rabbitt, store director at Specsavers Bournemouth said: ‘We were keen to collect as many glasses as possible throughout May for VAO.'

‘Anyone who gave us a pair of their old specs were entitled to a free eye test until 31 May 2015. VAO does incredible work supporting people in Africa by giving them eyecare services which aren’t readily available to them, so we wanted to help support them with our spring collection drive.’
