Boston store opening was a sight for sore eyes!
The Specsavers team in Boston celebrated in style at the official launch of the new store on Saturday 13 June.
Boston United’s assistant team manager Martyn Bunce joined Hayley-Jo Whitney, the star of the Specsavers ‘Workout’ TV commercial, to cut the ribbon at the re-located store at 9 Wide Bargate.
Hayley-Jo Whitney, who played the role of a short-sighted fitness teacher accidently performing at a bingo evening for the elderly, performed outside the store and encouraged shoppers to join in with her fun routine.
There was also a caricaturist on hand who created customers’ portraits in return for donations to St Barnabas, Lincolnshire Hospice – the store’s nominated charity. As a thank you to the store’s first customers, store director, Joanne Curtis, presented them with a bottle of Champagne and a box of chocolates.
Joanne said: ‘We had a fantastic day and it was great to see shoppers joining in with Hayley-Jo and making donations to St Barnabas, Lincolnshire Hospice.'
Amy Marshall, co-director, said: ‘We’re delighted to be up and running in our new store and we’ve already been made to feel very welcome by customers and local businesses. Our opening celebration was great fun and we look forward to holding more charity fundraising events in the future.’
