While Specsavers in Boscombe are closed for all routine eye and hearing tests at the moment, they are still open to provide essential care and to support local key workers.
Customers are being encouraged to contact their local store if they need urgent support with a visual problem, or if they have issues with their glasses, contact lenses or hearing aids.
Helping key workers
Recently, the store received a call from an A&E nurse who had had her car broken into and her glasses stolen. The team were able to make up a new pair of glasses for the nurse within the hour, and had them ready for her next shift on the frontline fighting the virus.
Open for care
Andreas Booth, store director and optometrist at Specsavers Boscombe, said: ‘We’re delighted to have been able to support our local community and key workers with urgent and emergency eye care and hearing services, here in Boscombe.
‘We want the local community to know that, while we are closed for routine appointments at the present time, we are still very much here to support people with their essential eye and hearing care needs, and to make sure they can see and hear healthily whilst staying at home.’
