Borehamwood eyecare experts marked Road Safety Week by promoting road-awareness among road-users and pedestrians in the area.

Specsavers in Borehamwood distributed 100 high visibility vests to local children during the annual awareness week and renewed the call to drivers and cyclists to make time for eye tests in their healthcare routines.

A word from the store director

Ronny Shome, store director of Specsavers in Borehamwood, said: ‘As optical specialists, we took it upon ourselves to raise awareness of the links between sight and road safety during Road Safety Week. We wanted to remind drivers and cyclists that their eyes need to be road-safe, and hope the kids can help us set an example to other pedestrians by wearing their high visibility vests when out and about over winter.’
