Bookworms are back at the Borders Book Festival
Specsavers Galashiels has announced its sponsorship of a prestigious literary event in the Borders.
The local opticians has offered its support for the second year running to the annual Borders Book Festival as it enters its 13th year at Harmony Garden.
The store will once again provide vital sponsorship for the festival, held between 16 and 19 June, reaffirming Specsavers’ dedication to supporting local communities and promoting literacy.
Enthusiasm for literature
Stuart Forrester, store director at Galashiels said: ‘We are delighted to once again be part of such a prestigious event as the Borders Book Festival. People travel from all over the UK to be part of the event, and it is great to see such enthusiasm for literature.
‘At Specsavers we are constantly encouraging our customers of all ages to get reading, and offer free eye tests to anyone needing assistance, so the book festival is a great fit for us. We thoroughly enjoyed working with the team last year and look forward to attending the event in June.’
A range of activities

The festival features an extensive programme with activities ranging from readings to street markets and book fairs. The Orchard will host the finest food and drinks from across the Borders and Scotland with the finest beers, craft gin and delicious seafood. A cafe will also be on-site along with a bookshop and numerous family friendly events.
