Blackburn's two Specsavers teams are urging local families not to be late for a very important date as they prepare to host a special Alice in Wonderland themed Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in aid of Derian House Children’s Hospice.
Both the Lord Street Mall and the Morrisons’ supermarket based Specsavers will be dressed as their favourite Lewis Carroll characters and hosting a special treat for customers on Friday, 28 August.
Treats on offer
There will also be cupcakes, a tombola and a raffle at both stores on the day, all of which will be raising money for the hospice. Additionally, before the big tea party, the stores are running a special creative children’s competition.
Local children are being encouraged to go into the store and collect a Specsavers green bug, take it on holiday or days out and take a photo of themselves and the bug in the most imaginative place possible.
The best picture will win a prize and the winning entry will be announced at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
A thank you to customers
Stuart Ingleby, director of the two Specsavers stores in Blackburn, said: ‘The whole team is very excited about the tea party as it is a fantastic opportunity for us to welcome the Blackburn community into store as a thank you for their ongoing loyal support.
It will all be in aid of the Derian House Children’s Hospice which is a cause very close to our hearts and one which we support throughout the year so we do hope you can join us on the 28 August.
In the meantime, the children’s photo bug competition is great family fun and we look forward to seeing some curiouser and curiouser photos which will fit perfectly with our Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.’
