Bexhill opticians invests in childrens safety
School pupils across Bexhill will be safer this winter thanks to their local Specsavers optician.
The opticians, located at 6 Western Road, has made a donation of hi-visibility vests to primary school pupils in the town. Pupils from St Peter and St Paul Primary School have received a fluorescent vest which will help them be clearly seen when travelling to and from school and when on school trips.
Specsavers store director, Rob Lofting said: 'With such dark mornings and nights, we wanted to play our part in helping the area’s youngsters to keep themselves safe. ‘After speaking to staff members and parents, we all agreed that local schools might welcome a donation of hi-visibility vests for the walk to school, as well as walking bus schemes or even class outings. The children were thrilled with their new jackets.’
The store has also donated a number of vests to local a Girl Guides group.
Specsavers has campaigned throughout the past decade to highlight the link between vision and road safety. In addition to its work donating high-visibility vests to schools across the country, Specsavers has toured motor and country shows nationwide, screening drivers’ vision in its Drive Safe campaign trailer.
