Berwick opticians raise money for rescue animals
Berwick eyecare experts raised a three figure sum to support rescue animals in the area.
Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels (B.A.R.K) was the chosen charity for Specsavers’ recent 10th anniversary fundraising drive in the town.
The eyecare experts’ week-long initiative included a family fun day and a store visit from two rescue pups themselves. Team members also got into the spirit of the occasion, dressing as their favourite animals for a day. Money raised via donations and a special prize draw in store totalled £100.
A word from the store director
Craig Bell, store director at Specsavers in Berwick, said: ‘That we’ve been able to do something positive to help a worthy local cause has made our tenth anniversary in Berwick even more special. As ever, residents were incredibly generous during our drive and helped us celebrate in style. Here’s to another ten years!’

Jan Ross of B.A.R.K added: ‘B.A.R.K was delighted to take part in Specsavers’ anniversary celebrations. Buzz, one of our rescue dogs, came back with a glowing report on the cakes on sale during the festivities. Fundraising initiatives are so important in helping to raise much-needed funds and in spreading awareness of the work B.A.R.K undertakes taking in and rehoming domestic animals.’
