The team at Belper raised more than £150 for Guide Dogs on Saturday 10 October with the help of a four-legged friend.
Guide dog in-training, Waffles, and handler, Judy, greeted customers as staff ran a host of fundraising activities for Guide Dogs, including a competition to find Belper’s cutest pooch.
As the photo entries rolled in, customers were asked to vote for their favourite in the waiting room. The lucky winner took home a designer watch, kindly donated by Zhivago Jewellery, while second and third place took home a £125 Specsavers voucher and box of chocolates respectively.
Andy McBride, store director, said: ‘Our Saturday fundraising activities went down a storm. Waffles the guide dog was a massive hit and so was Anna Wheatley, our optical advisor who dressed up as a giant guide dog and handed out goodie bags and balloons.
‘We’d like to thank everyone that took part and donated. Even just £5 can support a working guide dog partnership for a day, so raising more than £150 will make a real difference.’
